Inés Pardo

Inés Pardo es una referencia obligada al hablar de las voces más especiales del Reggae europeo. Cada vez que esta cantante se emplea sobre un riddim, su voz lo convierte en una experiencia única llena de alma, actitud combativa y amor por el estilo.

Su pasión se cultivó en un hogar absolutamente entregado a la música. Y en su bagaje vocal, estudios de música popular y clásica, coros, experimentos adolescentes con bandas de todo tipo y, por supuesto, el descubrimiento del Soul y el Reggae.

Primeras grabaciones Reggae

Ya en 2006, la cantante cántabra firma el corte “Everyday Task“ junto al reconocido productor Roberto Sánchez / Lone Ark en su disco Oil & Water, en el que Inés también colabora haciendo coros y en directo, acompañando al Lone Ark Riddim Force por los escenarios de todo el país.

Desde entonces, Inés Pardo se ha curtido siguiendo el camino tradicional del Reggae: cantando en sound systems, dancehalls, grabando dubplates y aumentando su discografía.

Junto al grupo bilbaíno Akatz, Inés graba en 2010 una versión del clásico ska/rocksteady «My Boy Lollipop» titulado «Lollypop» y que aparece en A Go-Go (Rudo, 2010).

Su relación con el sello Roots & Fyah, de corte más Roots Reggae, se refleja en dos vinilos con sendos cortes vocales, «That Old Luke’s Smile» en Milk & Honey (Roots & Fyah, 2011) y «They Don’t Know» en Mystic Revelation (Roots & Fyah, 2015).

Su primera cara A, la protagoniza ya en 2014 poniendo voz a un riddim de Asimov en una tema publicado en single 7 pulgadas y titulado «Snitcher» (Far Star, 2014).

One Sister, su ábum de debut

Por fin, en 2017 ve la luz One Sister, su esperado primer debut en solitario, íntegramente escrito y producido junto a Roberto Sánchez en A-Lone Ark Muzik Studio. La química entre ambos artistas resulta en un Roots Reggae contundente y espiritual, de clara influencia británica setentera y que muestra el amplio abanico estilístico de Inés Pardo. Y se sustenta en unos ritmos realizados a medida por un productor que siempre sabe cómo sacar lo mejor de los cantantes y que, claramente, sabe llevar a Inés a su máximo potencial.

Inés Pardo is a reference when talking about the best of European Reggae. Whenever she’s over a riddim, her voice turns it into a unique experience full of soul, fearless attitude and devotion to the style.

Her musical passion was cultivated in a home fully dedicated to music. And her vocal baggage includes popular and classical music studies, singing with choirs, trying all kind of bands in her teens and, eventually, the discovery of Soul and Reggae music.

First Reggae recordings

By 2006, she recorded «Everyday Task» with the renowned producer Roberto Sánchez / Lone Ark for his album Oil & Water, in which Inés also sings chorus. She went also live amongst the Lone Ark Riddim Force, playing all throughout Spain.

From then on, Inés Pardo walked the traditional path of Reggae: singing on sound systems and dancehalls, recording dubplates and increasing her discography.

The chemistry between both artists results in a powerful Roots Reggae full of spirituality. They bring some seventies British influenced sounds. And Inés Pardo shows a really wide stylistic range over riddims made to fit her by a producer who always know how to get the best out of the singers he works with. This here is no exception and Roberto Sánchez takes Inés Pardo to her full potential.
